This morning I found myself I found myself being led to my Bible, and searching the index for a specific topic, and in my search I found what I was looking for —
1 When the LORD was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. 2 Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here; the LORD has sent me to Bethel.”
But Elisha said, “As surely as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel. (2 Kings 2:1-2 NIV)
They were the words I was looking for — “As surely the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” These words brought great comfort to me this morning in many ways. What do these words mean to you?
For me, they reflect how I feel towards my dear friends — I’m not one blessed with many friends, but the few I have I wouldn’t trade for the world and would be lost without! And that of course goes for my husband, son, and dear family members as well — those that are here with us today, and those that have already gone to be with our Father in Heaven. And most important of all, these words remind me of how even though there are days that we might feel lost, alone, or forgotten, these words reflect how no matter what happens or what we do, God will stay with us on our path whether we want Him to or not — that’s how Awesome He Is!!
